Abby the sous-chef
Abby recently decided that she is now big enough to help out in the kitchen. (Previously, her only interest was in sampling the results of my efforts.) Muffins are her specialty. They are easy to mix up and she gets to watch them grow in the oven. Plus, they provide fairly instant gratification - a necessity when cooking with a 2-year-old.
Here we are preparing some apple-cheddar muffins:

And here she is mixing up her other favorite flavor combination - carrot pumpkin.

If you look closely at the window behind her, you can see that we are indeed baking muffins while it's 100 degrees outside in the shade. While this may seem crazy, the Texas "summer" is way too long to go without baking.

I hope Abby doesn't get any heavy metals in the muffins from that shirt she's wearing.
Way too long to go without homemade muffins indeed. So cute! Bea has long been a good helper but she must taste everything along the way. Apple cheddar you say? Might have to get that recipe too!
Abby can come and bake apple-cheddar muffins for me anytime!
